Quality of sleep becomes greatly diminished for various reasons including toxins in the body (especially the liver), negative memories, emotions, and traumas, as well as hormone imbalances and nutritional deficiencies.

**Be sure to get a reputable, brand of therapeutic grade lavender essential oil, such as Young Living Essential Oils. Often times, lavender essential oil is mixed with hybrid lavender (lavandin) or synthetic fragrances are added to it. If you use one of these compromised brands of lavender or end up with lavandin instead of lavender, it will not have the same relaxing effects, nor help you to sleep.

Valerian Essential Oil- Get to Sleep Faster Valerian Essential Oil

Valerian essential oil can be helpful in calming the mind and, therefore, can help one to fall asleep faster. This oil has a calming and tranquilizing effect on the nervous system and can be, especially, useful with sleep disturbances resulting from nervous conditions. It is useful in cases of insomnia.

Valerian essential oil can be diffused for up to 1 hour, 3 times per day or directly inhaled. It can be taken internally as a dietary supplement. For this usage, place 2 drops in a capsule and take one capsule an hour before bed. To use topically, rub 2-4 drops on the bottom of the feet before bed, or 1-2 drops on the temples and back of neck, as desired. Dilution of Valerian essential oil is not required, except for extremely sensitive skin.

Roman Chamomile- Balancing the Emotions For Better Sleep

Roman Chamomile essential oil is another great option for dealing with insomnia and, other, sleep disorders. It has a relaxing effect and can relieve restlessness and anxiety. Roman Chamomile’s ability to help stabilize the emotions can help one sleep during emotionally troubling times. This essential oil can, also, be helpful with depression.

Roman Chamomile essential oil can be diffused for up to 30 minutes, 3 times per day or directly inhaled. When using topically to aid sleep, rub 2-4 drops on the bottom of the feet before bed, or 1-2 drops on the temples and back of neck. Rubbing a single drop under the nose can be helpful, as well. Dilution of Roman Chamomile essential oil is not required.

Peace and Calming Peace And Calming Essential Oil Blend

Peace and Calming is a Young Living essential oil blend which is helpful for insomnia and, other sleep disorders. This blend can help reduce stress, depression, and anxiety, as well. Peace and Calming can help one to experience a peaceful night of rest. For an enhanced result, especially, in cases of insomnia combine with lavender.

This blend contains tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli, and blue tansy essential oils.

When using this blend topically to aid sleep, rub 1-2 drops on the bottom of the feet and on shoulders, before bed, or 1-2 drops on the temples and back of neck. Peace and Calming may be diffused for up to 1 hour 3 times per day, or directly inhaled.

Aroma Sleep

Aroma Sleep is another essential oil blend made by Young Living that can aid with sleep. It helps to calm the mind and feelings prior to bed. The blend contains lavender, geranium, Roman Chamomile, bergamot, tangerine, sacred frankincense, Valerian, and rue essential oils.

Massage 2-4 drops of Aroma Sleep to the bottom of feet before bed or apply 1-2 drops to the temples and back of neck. This blend can, also, be diffused for up to 1 hour, 3 times per day.
